SO - guys. Heard of Aerosoft´s new online stunt? Its a fictional airfield/airpark where plots with or without houses and hangers for planes are actually sold for real money. You can buy the actual field (a scenery pack) from June 30. (that´s tomorrow) In the scenery there are at the moment about 80 plots that will be sold - by auction for Christ Sake. And after this - if you buy a plot, you can have Aerosoft build you a standard house/hanger for free, or have built a customized home (for money as I can see) If you get tired of your plot, you can sell it - for real money, so if it is a succes, you can make a buck, and if not - you can lose - just like in real life. The airfield is supposed to be a totally community driven place, with an elected board of people running everything. Aerosoft will provide the building of the site, but not much else. They will take the money for the place, and for the plots, as they say, but every dime will go back into development of the place. There will be plots for GA aircraft, helicopters, Amphibians, and even a place for gliders... I got a "Second Life" feeling when I heard of it, but it seems to be very different. I find it very exciting, and will certainly try to get a plot for myself. (you get a nametag outside your place, so everybody can see that Ole lives here)
