Captain Sim release B-52 BUFF
Wednesday, 20 January 2010 15:41

CaptainSim have released the exterior model of their B-52 BUFF (I love that acronym :) ).

Yep, you read that right, there's no custom cockpit - it uses the default FSX 747 cockpit! I reckon it'd feel a bit schizophrenic flying this thing as it is. You'd be thinking you're flying your 747 around, switch outside and see it transform into a Cold War bomber!

I've never been that keen of the CaptainSim block system, but this takes the biscuit. I can't even tell you how much it is, as you seem to have to go through the checkout before you find out! And I've no idea if the custom cockpit will be a free upgrade when (if) it appears.

Anyway, if you're REALLY desperate for an external only model, you can find out more at CaptainSim.

Now that seems like the lamest release I have seen in many years. What are they thinking? Do they need cash so badly that they release unfinished products? I cannot think of another reason.

Bummer!!!

It's a shame it doesn't come with VC or systems (custom ones I mean)
but I've got to admit, it's an amazingly beautiful external model!
Took it for a spin out of Elmendorf AFB yesterday...
Really looks good!

Did it take 3 miles to Rotate, and the same distance to stop?

fully loaded with fuel, it's very hard to get of the ground...
but especially when light, it's amazing to see it lift off with a nose level attitude.
